End‑to‑end journey
One pack of medicine, from the production line to the patient. Run the journey step by step or all at once; every step is a real transaction in this demo and shows up in every other module.
Steps
The pack being followed
The journey will create a fresh batch and follow its first pack.

Product register
Every medicine authorised by TMDA carries a GTIN. Registration links the TMDA number, the manufacturer’s GLN and the GTIN so that any scan anywhere resolves to one authoritative record.

Serialisation
A batch gives every pack a unique identity: GTIN, expiry, lot and serial encoded in a GS1 Digital Link QR code — scan it with any phone to open the live verification page. Packs are aggregated into cartons and pallets with SSCCs so a single pallet scan accounts for everything inside.

Distribution
Orders move between GLN‑identified locations. At each hop the pallet SSCC is scanned three times: when it leaves, when it arrives and when it is accepted. A pallet that was never shipped cannot be received.

e‑Prescriptions
Prescriptions name the medicine by GTIN. At the pharmacy the scanned pack must carry that GTIN before it can be dispensed, and the patient can later confirm what they were given.

Verify & dispense
Scan the QR code on the pack. The platform checks that the GTIN is registered, the serial was commissioned and signed, the batch is not recalled or expired, that the pack’s pallet was actually received at this pharmacy, and that this exact serial has not been dispensed before.

Patient verification
The pack QR code is a GS1 Digital Link. A phone camera resolves it to a TMDA page for that exact pack, with no app to install.
Trace
Enter any identifier — a pack serial, an element string, a GS1 Digital Link, an SSCC or an order number — and see its complete chain of custody.
Alerts
Exceptions raised automatically from scans and dispensing: unknown serials, duplicate packs, unregistered GTINs, mismatched dispensing, recalls.
GS1 compliance
The platform is built on the three GS1 layers — identify, capture, share — so that Tanzania’s system interoperates with manufacturers’ existing serialisation lines and with other regulators.
